NEIGHBOURHOOD

The Fairview neighbourhood offers views of Vancouver downtown and North Shore mountains that are life changing. EAT with your eyes, LOVE with your heart, PRAY to live here. The neighbourhood terrain provides the view vantage points with 16th Ave border to it south, dipping towards False Creek to the North providing potential views of downtown+mountains. Much of the slopes where there are views are already quite dense filled with condos, townhouses, apartments.

Fairview also contains a section of Broadway that is a very important commercial and employment centre for the area. There are health workers focussed around Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer research facilities. Shopping in this district is plentiful including large big name stores as well as boutique stores and restaurants. Additional shopping can be found in South Granville, City Square, and nearby Granville Island.

This is a highly balanced and desirable neighbourhood. The zoning and planning provides Fair living with coops, leaseholds, and smaller units to provide living opportunity for all income levels - perhaps that is why it is named FAIR + VIEW. Although being so close to downtown, the area still maintains its roots and history from being a westcoast rainforest area - there are tree-lined streets and spots throughout. This area is highly walkable and you can stroll to the seawall, bike, rollerblade, head to nearby transit with skytrain or bus. Because this area is so desirable, there are fewer and fewer single family houses and more condos, apartments, townhouses, plexes. Along Broadway, there are many mid, high-rises that form a mix of commercial and residential space.
