As part of the Metro Vancouver strategic planning, the Tri-Cities are an informal group of 3 Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody) and 2 villages (Anmore and Belcarra).
Coquitlam’s City Centre is one of eight designated Regional Town Centres in Metro Vancouver’s Regional Growth Strategy. Coquitlam City Centre is the “downtown” for the Northeast Sector of Metro Vancouver, providing a full array of retail, office, cultural, recreational and educational services for this part of the Region.
The Tri-Cities are growing rapidly and is part of Metro Vancouver's development planning strategy. The 3 cities feature a beautiful backdrop of mountains and rivers and fresh air that reminds locals of Vancouver in the late 1980s when it was recognized worldwide as a top city to live in.
Housing in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody is diverse and ranges from older woodframe to luxury houses to a growing number of mixed-use retail & residential condominium towers. Strong communities, great schools, lots of events, and a feeling of space makes the Tri-Cities great for young, families and an aging population. Public Transportation is well established for commuters to get to Metro Vancouver and Burnaby downtown regions via the recently developed Evergreen Extension of the SkyTrain, West Coast express passenger train, and Buses.

*Census data from 2016 Statistics Canada census and CensusMapper.ca.
Traditional Census data provides a wealth of information. However, singular points of data are often meaningless without comparisons -- We decided to provide you a unique visual means of comparison. Once you see the visual patterns, this is extremely powerful. And this is not easily achievable with charts and graphs.
EXAMPLE: Lets take population density of a neighbourhood. As a single data point of density, the information is not very meaningful. However, on a color coded map, the density of Vancouver (dense purple areas) surrounding transportation corridors light up. It is easy to see that Vancity planning has had an effect on dense housing types along skytrain/Kingsway corridor. This useful information is not as easy to convey with just charts and graphs.
