Oakridge did not develop significantly until post-1950s but recently, this popular neighbourhood has undergone significant rezoning in large part because of the Cambie and Oak street corridors. Changes to Oakridge Mall have triggered constant interest in this area. There are upcoming major OCP plans that will make this area even more attractive.

Oakridge is in the centre of Vancouver, near QE park and Oakridge mall. There is significant development dedicated to an aging population and there are sophisticated many high end residential condos, targeted to this mature and sophisticated market. There exist a large number of single family homes on quite generous lots and a mix of bungalow homes from 50-70s. Multi-family homes are becoming common developments along the Cambie and Oak corridors.

With QE Park, Riley Park, and Langara Golf Course, there is no shortage of green space or activity in this area. The draw of Oakridge mall development and renewal has been significant in attracting both established professionals as well as a mature population. The expansion of Langara College balances out a mix of family and student interest in the area.
